David Thomas

David Thomas moved into Ensign House in November 2016. Having previously bought in a new build development he knew first hand the value of a Residents Association, and the benefits of residents coming together to help resolve shared issues.

In his professional life David is Head Of Product for an online technology firm, in this role he manages both teams of people and projects.

He’s very much enjoying the sense of community at Tavern Quay, and is excited to bring about positive change whilst in his position as Chairman.

Chris Harris moved into a Lock House flat through the Shared Ownership scheme in early 2016 after taking part in the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race.

His background is in communications and community relations within the property industry and he has a Masters in Town and Country Planning, which he hopes will be useful in furthering the interests of TQRA.

Diana garnham buse

Diana Garnham Buse and her husband Rodney moved into Lock House in the first phase in November 2015. She has lived in Southwark since 1988 and has a strong connection with the area and thought that life would be easy moving from a house more than 180 years old to a new build! Her professional background is in campaigning for policy change in health and science and she has worked with charities and voluntary organisations for more than 30 years. Now scaling back her professional life to enjoy more holidays she is keen to help make Tavern Quay a great place to live.

Theo Ip.jpg

Theo Ip

Theo Ip is a newcomer from Hong Kong, a city filled with skyscrapers. Finding his first place with a long list of snagging issues contributed more pressure than pleasure. Luckily, his journalistic background blesses him with two skills to solve problems: putting himself into others' shoes and bringing people together. One night, out of frustration, he created a Facebook group called “who lives in Tavern Quay" and quickly discovered he was not alone with those challenges. And so the TQRA was born! These smart and generous neighbours share their joy, insights, issues, as well as views from their balconies with each other every day. Theo now no longer appears on TV, but he works on a Chinese mobile payment gateway and providing PR service to European companies who are eyeing Chinese visitors. One of the reasons Theo chose Lock House is because the gym, his second home, is right opposite.

Peter Hardy

Peter Hardy and his wife Niki Gorick moved into Ensign House in June 2017, swapping suburban living for urban living and never looking back for a moment. Peter is a Managing Director for a recruitment company and spends his days overcoming many obstacles of varying levels of magnitude. He hopes that this experience might be useful to the Committee. Peter plays and watches cricket, goes to see a variety of football teams during the winter and attends many music venues notably Ronnie Scott's, The Borderline and The Sound Lounge.

Sophie Rycroft

Sophie joined the Committee in August 2018, but has been actively involved in the Residents' Association since moving to Tavern Quay, including through producing the monthly ‘What’s On' newsletter to help residents make the most of the area.

Sophie’s first career was managing art collections but has since worked in local government (Camden Council) and now works as a Policy Advisor for central government.

Sophie thinks that Tavern Quay is a fantastic place to live but has joined the committee to try and help make it even better! Sophie is particularly keen to pursue the Right To Manage process and make the Ensign House Roof Terrace more usable.

In her spare time Sophie enjoys comedy gigs, Zumba classes at Surrey Docks Watersports centre and learning calligraphy.

Sophie moved to Ensign House in February 2017 with her fiancée Tom.
